Do we have a minimum price?

Yes, our minimum price for any project is $15,000.00

The first step in our process is a discovery call. We might not be a fit for the project you’re looking to have completed and your project might not be a good fit for the type of work we do. We learn more about you and the project and see if it makes sense for us to move forward. After the call, if we’re both ready to get started on this project, we can move right into the design phase and collect the design payment and set up our next meeting to discuss the design on site. If you’re not sure if you’re ready for the design phase quite yet, we can set up a consultation, and then move into the design phase from there. If we’ve made it into the design phase, this is probably the longest step in the process as we create the design, work on finalizing layout, materials, etc. Expect this step to take at least 2 weeks, and upwards of 6 weeks for complex designs. Once the design is finalized and approved, we begin drafting up the proposal. Proposing our designs can usually be done within a week. Once the proposal is accepted we collect the first deposit, start pulling permits if necessary and ordering materials, and officially put you on our calendar. Then the fun part, construction time. This process depends on the scope of work. Once we complete the project, we do a final walkthrough. Once the final walkthrough is complete you can sit back and enjoy your new space.

By charging for our onsite visits, you are now a client of Munro and will receive our full attention and client experience. Since the client is now invested, people no longer forget about the meeting, show up late, or not show up at all. We value our time, and we bring a lot of experience to these meetings. The consultation is not just us coming out, taking photos, grabbing some measurements and then emailing you a quote. Our onsite visits typically last 30-45 minutes, we are going to listen to WHY this project is important to you. We want to present a design to you that solves the problem you’re looking to fix. We are not like every other contractor. Here at Munro, we are going to give you a phenomenal customer experience. We are going to do what we say we’re going to do; we’ll answer the phone when you call, clean up when we’re done, and we show up when we say we’re going to be there. We finish strong and leave you with a great project and a great feeling about the experience we had together. Not all the time but more frequently the companies that come out and do everything for free; you will end up not having the same experience.

Designing these projects takes a lot of time, and before we put any of our resources into a design we want to cover our time. Just like our consultations, you are now a client of Munro and will receive our full attention and client experience.

  1. There’s a lot too this question, and it can’t be answered in just one sentence. Factors that will determine the lifespan of a fiberglass pool are the manufacturer, the installation, and the maintenance. 

    1. Choosing a reputable high quality pool shell manufacturer is the first step. Make sure to look into the brand your pool builder is installing. What is there warranty? What types of resins are they using to form their pool shells? These are important questions to ask. Fiberglass pools are built in manufacturing facilities, not out in the field like vinyl or concrete pools. The fiberglass pools shells are held to extremely high standards, and are built in a quality controlled facility. There’s a reason most boats these days are made from fiberglass; it’s a tough material. 

    2. A lot of money can be saved in the installation process, and going with the cheaper bid can cost you a lot down the road. A fiberglass pool set on the wrong stone material, improper drainage or backfill around the shell, the way it was handled or placed in the hole, plumbing material, order of operations during installation, etc. are all ways that if done wrong could drastically decrease the life of the fiberglass pool. 

    3. Lastly, maintenance. I know you don’t want to hear it but fiberglass pools do require maintenance. Items that could effect the lifespan of the pool, improper winterization, water level getting too low, bad cleaning schedule or lack there of, water chemistry, damage to the gel coat from abrasive cleaner or tools.

Yes Munro is licensed through the state of Michigan and holds a valid builders license. This means we pull all of our own permits and can over see the permit process, inspections, etc. creating peace of mind for our clients and helping us get our projects done in a timely manner.
Here at Munro we do our pool installations in house with our teams. This allows us to ensure deadlines are met, and the installation is done to our higher standards. We have a valid Builders License through the state of Michigan, allowing us to pull our own permits, schedule inspections, and oversee the entire project from start to finish. Creating stress-free, timely installation for our clients.
We do not offer stamped concrete services, we install brick pavers. If we are designing and building the entire outdoor living space, we may bring in our concrete subcontractor to complete that portion for us if stamped concrete makes sense in that specific scenario.
Yes, pavers are more than stamped concrete.
Brick pavers have a more extensive installation process then concrete, resulting in a higher labor and material cost.

If installed properly brick pavers will out last concrete. Even properly installed concrete will crack over time.

Yes, we prefer larger projects. We’ve been specializing in larger projects since the mid 1990’s.
Yes, but we do have some stipulations with our concrete pool builds. We do not offer them in-house and have a great relationship with a concrete pool builder. Our concrete pool projects would require to be more than just a pool and contain other features like a full outdoor living space with a pool, paver patio, kitchen, fire features, landscape, pavilions, etc.
If weather cooperates and inspections aren’t delayed, a fiberglass pool can be installed and running within 5 days. We say that a basic fiberglass pool install will take at least 2 weeks for the entire package (pool deck, fencing if required, auto cover, landscaping, etc.)

Yes Munro does install pools with our own teams.

Yes, we’ve developed a niche for new build homes. Specializing in full packages since 1997.

We usually operate with around 7 field team members. Investing in the proper equipment and tools for our crews has allowed us to run more efficiently with smaller crews.

We are not known as the cheap contractor in our industry, we’re not a production pool builder. We’re a full-turn landscape construction company, and give our clients white glove treatment. Not only are we installing your pool, but we are overseeing and handling every aspect of your outdoor living space. You will have only one point of contact, us. With a production pool builder their price is for just the pool, and you’ll have to find contractors for every other aspect of your backyard space. We install our projects to the industry’s highest standards, use schedule 40 P.V.C for our plumbing, only install top-of-the-line and fully optimized pool equipment.

Consultations are one of the most important steps in our process. This is most likely the first time we all get to meet in person and walk the site out. Our consultations are much more than just a quick conversation, taking some photos and grabbing some measurements, then emailing you a estimate. We book our consultations in 1 hour blocks. We usually begin with a quick walk through the space and listen to your input. We dig in and try to figure out what is causing you to do this project, why is it important? This is the most important item we discuss; it will allow us to ensure we design a project that is exactly what you’re looking for and will solve the issue you’re having. After we walk the space we will go inside and sit down. This is where we talk more in depth about what’s important, discuss project investment, and layout. We do not discuss materials in this step, as it is not an important item at this point. We may discuss color palette options, layout, sizing, etc. We then go over what to expect next. We will be able to give you a time frame of when to expect a design and will usually schedule a design review meeting the day of our consultation. At the end of the consultation, we decide if we are moving into the design phase or going our separate ways, we like to be transparent. Although we prefer a yes, we let everyone know that a no is ok as well, not a maybe or we’ll think about it.
Make sure to check out our pricing page to get an accurate range for these projects. Assuming there is a blank slate. A smaller landscape project (think front yard only or backyard only) will start at $15,000.00. A medium landscape project with a bit more design elements to it will start at $20,000.00, larger landscape projects will start at $30,000.00.

Full packages will start at $50,000.00. This includes a medium landscape plan around the house, some focal point trees, lawn, and irrigation installation.

It really depend on how extensive the design is. A smaller landscape project may be turned around in less than 2 weeks. A very extensive and elaborate outdoor living space could take up to 6 weeks.

Weeds do not grow up through the gravel base and show up in between the pavers. There’s two ways that weeds will show up on your paver patio. One is animals may drop seeds or clippings onto the patio. Or grass clippings are blown onto the patio while cutting the lawn. How can you prevent weeds from growing on your patio? Make sure to blow the patio off at least once a week, especially after cutting the lawn. And also make sure to keep up with maintaining the patio space. Give it a good cleaning every spring, and check the polymeric sand in the paver joints. Over time this can “disappear”, especially if not installed properly, and then dirt and debris get into the paver joints, creating a perfect environment for weeds.

We do not install decks. We do have a great working relationship with our carpenters and can include decks in our outdoor living designs if it makes sense for the space.
